Gifts for Uganda
The Gift of Gratitude is a non-profit organization that was created to make a difference in underprivileged children’s lives. Our organization provides resources and necessities for struggling kids and families through care packages from the ages of newborns to teens, helping families all over California and internationally. Each month we have a fundraiser and projects that collaborate to help these different communities.
Our recent project was particularly special to our organization! A friend of the foundation reached out to work together and help the children of Sorroti, Uganda.
Here’s our story:
Tiffany Martinez, a friend and CEO/FOUNDER of “A Clean Water Foundation”, reached out to me while she was traveling to Africa. She traveled to Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania in search of rural areas to build wells for her foundation. When in Teso, Uganda (sub-region) she came across families and children in dire need of essentials.
That night I received an unexpected text message from Tiffany.
“I am here in Uganda and would like to know if the Gift of Gratitude would be open to creating bundles for the little ones in a village?”
We continued to stay connected, and she exchanged pictures of the children in the villages.
At first, I wasn’t sure I could help.
“My heart goes out to these families. Thank you for thinking of my organization to help. I would love to give but don’t know how I can get the supplies overseas. Do you have anyone that would be able to bring them essentials?”
She assured me there was someone from the village in Soroti, Uganda that will be traveling to the States within a month and will be able to travel back with all the bundles.
The stars began to align.
Tiffany mentioned that most of these children don’t have shoes or toys to play with. We wanted to provide them with toys and clothes while keeping in mind the climate, environment, and personal needs of the children.
My team and I brought together donors, sponsors, and community members willing to help with creating our Gratitude Bundles. Less than a month later the Bundles were prepared for take-off!

No one can escape the challenges of life, but if there is giving in our hearts, the challenges become a little less heavy. A person can contribute time, volunteering, and donation to help those that are not as fortunate. Everyone has a gift, and it’s our gifts in life that we are honored to use in service to help children and families worldwide.
Poverty is a world problem. Our organization is here to help not only be sustainable for the children in the United States that need us but all over the world. This project meant even more to our organization because The Gift of Gratitude would be helping so many children and we would have the opportunity to grow internationally. Our goal is to help children all over the world.
